Instruction Backflips from a raised position
Exercise description
Starting position : Standing position on an elevated platform. Dumbbells held with a hammer grip. Shoulder blades pulled back, abdomen and glutes tight. Execution : Maintaining the correct starting position, inhale and, stepping down from the rise, perform a backward bend with one leg. Keep the stepping leg in place. In a step-back position, bend your calf so that the knee of the step leg is just above the floor. Exhaling, shift your weight to the step leg and return to the starting position through vigorous leg work. The weight of your body rests on the leg that is on the step. Knees point outwards, never point inwards.
